Well, here we are on the Gaither Homecoming Alaska Cruise! Today is the 3rd day and we are in Juneau, Alaska.
I ate fish and chips for lunch at a wonderful little restaurant with Bill, Gloria, Marshall, Jessy, Ernie, Gordon, Emily, and several more great friends. Then we went to eat some fish at a salmon bake outdoors near a stream. That was also fun.
Now, I'm back onboard the ship, preparing to eat a fish sandwich. I've never eaten so much fish in my life. All the souvenirs have fish on them. The T-shirts and coats have fish embroidered on them. I don't think I like fish any more. It's probably just as well. I don't think the fish like me.
The weather has been perfect, about 60 degrees. That's compared to the record drought conditions we've had back home in Nashville. It's been the hottest August in middle Tennessee since 130 years ago (around the time Bill wrote "He Touched Me").
Tomorrow, we cruise Glacier Bay. I hope I see some fish.

In two days, we'll set sail for Alaska with Bill & Gloria and the Homecoming Friends. These cruises are always fun and very unstructured as far as what we sing. Bill kinda shoots from the hip and it's always great.
If you've never been on one of these, consider going with us. The scenery is beautiful, the food's great, and the spirit is sweet.
My daughters have started school. Carolina is in the 3rd grade this year and Olivia began Kindergarten yesterday. She was much more in control of her emotions that Momma and me. We sobbed & moaned. There was our little girl with her little backpack, in her little environment and doing great! She's excited that she gets to drink from the water fountain. God is good!
Kathy is now volunteering at the school so she can keep an eye on our little ones. I go to their classes and read stories and help with field trips. I also have lunch with them as often as I can. It's my opportunity to enjoy a delicious chicken patty or fruit cup, or even the board of education's favorite.....the chicken puff pastry with gravy.....yum.
Yes.....God is good!

Hey Everybody,
My friend Emily has set me up with a user name and a blog and it's about time I wrote something. I'm glad to have the opportunity to tell you about what's going on in my life and the lives of my family. We've had a wonderful summer. Now the kids are going back to school and Bill's gettin' ready to hit the road again. It looks like a great fall tour!
I'll get some pictures up soon and I'll try to update this blog as often as I can. Meanwhile, know that I appreciate all of you so much.
