Everyone at Gaither Music wishes you a wonderful New Year, filled with fresh reminders of God’s faithfulness. Gaither.com asked our Homecoming artists to share a few of the ways they have been reminded of God’s goodness during this season of reflection… and here is what they had to say:

Lily Isaacs:
I am a 25-year Breast Cancer Survivor!! Praise God! But somehow going through all my tests every year still makes me very anxious. After getting another clean bill of health last month, I can take a deep breath again. I prayed, as a young mother of three, in 1983 to let me live to raise my 3 children. My Precious Savior hasn’t only blessed me with that request, but I also can now enjoy my grandchildren another holiday season. I’m grateful that I can wake up every morning, and experience ALL of LIFE. Sometimes things are not as pleasant as others, but I have come to realize that as long as I have my health, there is nothing God and I cannot handle together. I’m excited to see what the Lord has in store for us in 2010. I pray for all our friends and fans to have a Blessed and HEALTHY New Year!

Ivan Parker:
“I’m always very conscience of God’s place in my life. In looking back over the last year I’ve really stressed to my audience’s that ‘God will never leave you nor forsake you’ in all situations. His faithfulness not only pertains to me but to the people I’m singing to. I’ve seen that through the tough economic times, he has provided for every need in my ministry and more. The testimonies from so many fans of how God created a way for them when there was no other way has strengthened my faith in his faithfulness! I’m expecting God to continue to reveal to us all that we can believe and trust in his guidance for America’s leaders and the church will know that we rest in the palm of his hand!”

Gene MacDonald:
“This has been a great year.  God has allowed me to learn to love my wife more and to show her how I feel.  Being a man, it is hard to show… and tell… and mean it. Gloria on the Christmas tour has helped, with her story of the man hunting for a card for his wife. The Lord has allowed me to be singing again and being with a great group of people is more of a support group and a family for advice and fellowship.  God is good.”

Ann Downing:
“I guess I’ve known for a decade or two that I should write a book…I believe I heard God’s ‘urgings’ more than once! The time or how-to just didn’t seem to gel until this past year of 2009.

“As I was journalizing one morning it came to me that if I don’t tell at least a part of my story, then how would God’s provisions and protection for me be given praise for beyond a few people and me?

“At about that time a publisher contacted me that he’d been reading my website and felt there was a book there.  From that came ‘Skidmarks on the Road of Life’.  Little did I dream that folks would be prompted to look back over their lives and see the ways God had brought them through the days and nights that seemed hopeless, give answers to what seemed to be ‘unanswerable questions’, help them to put some of the broken pieces of their lives back together again as they once again found hope for their future.

“As I move into 2010, I’m believing that those ‘skidmarks’ left along the way as memories of a wreck that didn’t destroy my life will go a long way in keeping faith alive in my heart that He’ll do it again! “

Stephen Hill:
God’s faithfulness? It is evident in every aspect of our lives. He has manifested His faithfulness and goodness to me by allowing me to safely travel and spread His message of love and redempton. He has answered prayers for health. He has safely guided life when there seemed no clear path. I don’t offer any anecdotal evidence, only thanks to my maker for His continuing goodness and mercy. Also a prayer for all who are called to sing His praises in this coming year. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord for His mercy endures forever, amen.
