THANK YOU, BABY JESUS

Christmas was always a very special time in our family, and it still is. We were very blessed as children to have a mom and dad who loved us very much and each other dearly. We may not have had lots of money, but we did have a lot of love.

I can remember one Christmas morning in particular. I was up at the crack– and I mean the crack– of dawn. I couldn’t get
downstairs to our tree fast enough, but it was with mixed emotion. You see, there was this one doll baby that I really wanted—“Baby Alive” She was at that time, my only heart’s desire, all I wanted for Christmas.

When I told my parents about her a few weeks earlier, they told me our Christmas budget was really small; and because there were six children in our home, we might not be able to have certain things. This broke my little heart, but I certainly understood the financial position we were in at that time-or did I? You see, I still hoped for a miracle  somehow-that just maybe they could get enough money so I could have my special doll.

Well, I am happy to report over 30 years later that when I got to the tree that morning, my sweet “Baby Alive” doll was nestled safely below. To this day, I still don’t know how it happened; but it did, and I am grateful. What a beautiful Christmas morning it was.

There was another beautiful Christmas morning that changed the entire course of history, and the Gift of that morning is still changing history and lives today. Unlike my doll that only brought me temporary pleasures, Jesus, the everlasting Prince of princes was truly the best gift my parents ever game to me; and I am eternally grateful.

So may this Christmas be the most beautiful and memorable morn ever even if you don’t get the gift you so desire. Just know that the best Gift of all is still waiting to be unwrapped.

Receive Him today, my friend.
