4926Dougitoons:Superb! Can't tire of this man's voice. I was told about him in 1992 by a friend of mine who later died in the Waco siege. But I did not catch the spirit until Winston's sister and her husband Odeth & Paul Horslen played me some GVB in 2002. I still couldn't believe such a talent existed in Gospel music.
Those two went on a Caribbean Cruise with the Gaithers in 2003 and Paul died in 2004. At his funeral, I was part of a group that sang a Gaither Vocal band song. I was given the tenor part that belonged to Mr Phelps. That was when I really knew what it was to be vocally stretched in both height and length of note.
In 2010, I almost had the chance to have David sing in a show in England, slated for April 2011. Sadly, the financial backer changed his mind and lost out on a great witnessing opportunity.
David. Please continue to Praise the Lord and fill our hearts with Hope and Joy. I can't sing like you, but I can always dream that one day I'll sing with you either here or there.
